Thursday, May 8th at 6:30pm, the acoustic stone walls of the Bowen will once again be filled with classical and jazz music!

This presentation is FREE to the public and features the North Georgia Chamber Symphony who brings us their Quartet who will play a variety of music – classical from the 18th to 20th centuries – and even a little jazz!

Following the performance, we welcome you to a reception to connect and share in the evening’s joy.

The Historical Bowen is located just North of the downtown Dawsonville, GA at 334 Highway 9N. This “Old Rock School” is a vintage 1936 former school building which was also used as the County canning store, mattress factory, juvenile detention, and then designated in 1941 as the Department of Vocational Agriculture. In later years, it served as the Junior and High School’s rooms for band, choir, home economics and shop. When the County decided to demolish the building, groups sprang into action and formed the Dawson County Arts Council. Their efforts successfully brought hundreds of locals to help renovate the beautiful stone building into the flourishing community art center it is today.

While this event is free of charge, we gratefully welcome donations to help support the Bowen Center for the Arts!
