The Heart in Hand Quilt Guild brings another great FREE display of quilts to the Bowen.   Each Guild Member typically enters 5 or less quilts in either the General Theme category or the Challenge Quilt category. To participate, members make a quilt that fits the theme. of their interpretation of what the theme means to them. What does this theme mean to you? 

These beautiful works will be on display for a month and a half from August 15 to September 30. Take a tour of almost 90 quilts dripping from the rafters of our vintage schoolhouse building. Visitors from as far as Montana to California, Florida to Maine are amazed with this exhibition. Docents from this fun and active group will be on hand mid-day for tours and information.

Come to our Opening Reception Saturday, August 15 from 1-3pm. Meet this energetic group of fiber artists from all over North Georgia. Bring friends and family and enjoy refreshments and snacks for a fun afternoon.

Join this Guild and enjoy laughter, create, commune and the spirit to give back with wonderful projects that help others feel happiness. Get ready for lots of laughter, learning and creative energy. Membership is only $30 per year. They meet at the Bowen every second Tuesday of the month from 5:30pm to 7:00pm. This group has a heart of gold! Every year, they help out with numerous charities and support groups. Shown above is a workshop group of stitchers who worked for over two days to produce baby quilts for the local orphanage. With a gift of a quilt, they provide happiness to community support centers and non-profit groups such as EMS rescuers and children’s and senior centers. 

Every year this guild donates a quilt to the Bowen to help support arts in our community. Tickets are only $1.00 or six for $5.00! The beautiful king size (96″x96″) quilt this year is Crossroads designed by Kim Schaefer. Almost every guild member participated in the quilt’s creation by donating fabrics, then it was on to the crews who cut, pieced, laid out pattern, then final quilting. Many thanks to Linda Camp and Jan Wyatt, chairs of the Raffle Quilt  – and to all the other guild member for all their efforts! And yes, we will ship this quilt to our winner – no matter where they live!!!
