Join us for a fun filled day and make a modern take everywhere tote using traditional weaving techniques. LaVonne Markel has been creating baskets for several years and will provide you with all the tips and techniques needed for a beautiful work of art. All basket materials will be provided and included in the cost of the class.
Class is limited to 6 students and no experience is required. Lots of useful info for continuing to produce baskets in your own will be shared by the instructor. We will use traditional rattan reed and cotton shaker tape to produce this handy 9 inch tote. A variety of color choices will be available to chose from. Students will need to bring an apron, dishpan or wide bucket, sharp tipped sturdy craft scissors, an old small towel, and a small flathead screwdriver or small awl.
This class is a favorite and we have filled the October 14th date. Please contact us if you’re interested and would like to be on the wait list or first to know of another date.
The cost of this class is only $60 per student and runs from 10:00AM to 4:00PM with a lunch break. Bring your own or grab a pizza or sandwich around the corner.
