Bard Wrisley of Dahlonega, GA was this year’s judge. Below are his remarks to our gallery crowd of 135 at the Opening Awards:
First of all I’d like to compliment Ginny on such an excellent exhibition of photography. Then I’d like to thank her for asking me to judge such a great show. The quality of work is truly exceptional and wide ranging in terms of subject matter and technique.
Having been a commercial photographer for 43 years, it’s always a treat for me to spend time enjoying the work of my fellow photographers. Judging this group was not an easy task and I spent almost three hours looking at each image several times. My process in judging was to establish three categories and use a 1-5 point system in the areas of 1) technical, 2) artistic and 3) how the image captured “the moment.”
