It’s another great year for the Heart in Hand Quilt Guild’s display of handmade quilts! See all these beautiful works from September 16 to October 19. Over 70 quilts will be again dripping from the rafters of this historic old schoolhouse building. Visitors from all over stop in to see this amazing exhibition. Docents will usually be on hand mid day for tours and information.

Join us for the Opening Reception Saturday, September 17 from 2-4pm. Meet this lively group of fiber artists from all over North Georgia. Bring friends and family and enjoy refreshments and snacks You can also join this Guild which meets at the Bowen every second Tuesday of the month from 5:30 to 6:30pm. Just drop in and enjoy! Membership is only $20 per year. For more information, email Pat Melcher, Guild President at melcher141@gmail.com.

And every year this guild donates a quilt to the Bowen to help support its special events. Tickets are only $1.00 or six for $5.00! The beautiful quilt this year is titled Planting the Shoo-Fly Garden and features Kaffe Fausett designer fabrics. Many thanks to Jeannie Whitworth, chairman of the Raffle Quilt and to everyone who selected and donated the amazing Kaffe fabrics and helped make the Shoo-Fly Garden. Fabrics were donated by guild members and assembled by over 40 quilters. The appliquéd outer border was designed by Jackie Somerville and applied by four guild members. This Queen/King size (94″x104″) quilt was machine quilted by Deborah Raptis and binding was sewn by Jan Fambrough.
