This Guild exhibit is a destination. Each year, visitors walk in the front doors and pause to catch thei
r breath. After the initial shock of the volume and beauty of fiber art before them, they comment how far they traveled just to view this event. Entranced, they browse for hours with friends and family. They share fond memories with joy and laughter, and leave with a smile on their face.
Each year, the Bowen welcomes back the Heart in Hand Quilt Guild and their overwhelming display of hard work and talent. We hope the Quilt Guild understands what a tremendous impact their art means, and how far their efforts reach out especially in these reflective times. Thank you Quilters ~ You’re the BEST!
The Bowen also enjoys “bragging rights” in hosting the Guilds’ meetings and workshops, and is always grateful for their beautiful exhibition each year. Guild members learn techniques, attend show-and-tell, get discounted workshops and retreats AND enjoy the camaraderie of this philanthropic and entertaining group. They hail from Dawson, Hall, Lumpkin, Pickens and Forsyth Counties.
This Guild also contributes with community outreaches for charities such as Comfort Quilts for First Responders for use throughout the year, Children’s Quilts, Dawson Senior Citizens, and even Quilts for Cats in shelters because cats with quilts get adopted sooner! Recipients were quite grateful to be the focus of such a heartfelt gift.
Don’t miss their annual Raffle Quilt they donate to The Bowen which each member participated helped create. The Sparkling Gemstones reversible, king size quilt features Kaffe Fassett fabric. Tickets are only $1.00 per ticket or 6 for $5.00 and are available at the Bowen or online at bowenarts.org. The drawing is held December 8, 2020. All proceeds from this raffle goes to the non-profit The Bowen Center for the Arts.
